POTD: Day 10 {Pink Saturday 7}

P1040763

Take a peek above the cupboards into my little country kitchen affectionately called "Kitchen #2".  It's the kitchen in the mother-in-law suite.  We don't spend a lot of time in there, but I finally had a place to display all of my vintage cottage treasures!  This is just one corner!

I love old tins with fabulous graphics and the rose tin is unbelievable.  A goodwill purchase that broke the bank @ .75 cents.

The pink and aqua breadbox with the pussy willows was found in the mountains of Colorado near Leadville.  I paid $10 and it's in wonderful condition.

The pitcher is large and has a flower on it in white.  It's Cameo by Harker Pottery.  One of my favorite deals.  $5 at a garage sale a few years back.  Lucky for me it was being watched over by a tired husband stuffing his face with pizza.  It had a much higher price tag and when I asked for his best price he shouted $5 with a full mouth.  I threw my five dollar bill at him and headed for my car!

How I love PINK SATURDAY and my friend BEVERLY!  Head over for a total PINK OUT!

P1050380

It's grueling work laying on an old pile of quilts...P1050378

Lucy is so pretty she deserved three pics in one day.  She's a Snowshoe with glorious blue-ish green eyes.  We should have named her Sybil though.  Good thing she's pretty!!!  ;)

A Picture A Day: Day 4 {Pink Saturday Part Six}

Pretty buttons on a pink card...  Can you say :mother of pearl:???  I knew you could!  Fit for any royal highness!

I have them with four button holes.  And just two.  All w/ the lovely gold embossing.

Find 'em @ my little cottage on the web: Heart-Shaped Rock Cottage!

Or if you prefer...

HAPPY PINK SATURDAY LADIES!

A Water Logged Pink Saturday Part Cinq

Let's start w/ THE PINK:

P1040969

Remember that old door I drug home for $5?  Well, here ya go!  Instant headboard!  Miss M and puppydog.  You simply cannot get cuter than this.  They are suffering from sheer exhaustion.  All that swimming!!!

We've spent every day since Wednesday in the pool.

We started @ Great Wolf Lodge Resort for a belated birthday celebration for our baby girl who is double digits now.

P1050128

It was fun taking four kids to the waterpark.  I always imagined myself with four kids.

P1050138

P1050141

Well, these four kids were wonderful.  We had a total blast.  It was like VEGAS for kids.

P1050140

Clearly I did not take my Canon Rebel w/ me...  But I wasn't going for good photography.  Just capturing the memories before my little birds fly away from the nest.

Pink Saturday Part Quatre

Well, there are all kinds of pink and Miss Meg went to the far end of the spectrum with her new paint color.

P1050113

The ceiling has a great pitch.  She planned to use this shade on all four walls, but I think it will be overwhelming, so we're trying to talk her into just two walls, but she's 10 now and has a mind of her own.

On a lighter note (literally!) here are some wonderful things in my shop up for auction right now.

P1050110

P1050111

This vintage old German pin cushion with the fabulous lace and millinery flowers and that velvet lace in the palest shade of pink.  Yummy goodness.

P1050102

P1050101

These porcelain roses are so delicate I may just have to keep them around for a bit.  My favorite junking find of all from last weekend.

P1050106

And I adore this sweet chintz rose jewelry box.  I will have this in the store by early next week.

Happy Pink Saturday ladies.  GET PINK!   Just click on the link for a whole show of PINK!  Thanks Beverly.

A Time For Rest

There is a time to work.

P1050087

And there is a time to rest.

Right now is a time to rest.

I'm resting.

Didn't even paint the fence...

Although as I'm sitting in my most recent estate sale finds, under the shade of my pretty tree, I can't help but ponder what color I should repaint these oh so wonderful chairs.

Old Carpet Ramblings

Volleyball camp.  Basketball camp.  Pole vaulting camp.  Bedroom redo.  Just drew up the plans (well, Mr. Fix It and his awesome architect skills... he can EVEN draw in scale!) and got a quote for our new metal building (it's huuuuuuuuugeeee!).  Doc appointments.  eBay listing (not my favorite part).  I don't know if I can keep this schedule up.  I'm always in my vehicle.  Coming or going.  I pass myself on a regular basis!  Plus keeping the troops fed and the fur/feather babies fed & medicated.  Shewwwww...  Pretty soon they'll have to just take me to the dump along w/ all that old yucky carpet!

P1040954

On a happy note: after getting the newest copy of Romantic Country I couldn't sleep!!!  So much inspiration.

P1040953

Love that dresser! :SIGH:  If you can't find this issue in your area you can find it in my eBay store: HEART-SHAPED ROCK COTTAGE.  Just plug ROMANTIC COUNTRY into the search box.  They've been selling like hotcakes as I gather they're not readily available everywhere.

This magazine made me want to repaint everything!!!

P1040955

Estate sale find in the pit of the garage. $2  First coat!

P1040956

Garage sale.  $1.  This think is huge!  Not sure what I'm doing with it.  After Meg & I pulled out nails for an hour I'll figure something out.  Can't decide between white or cream.

P1040957

A wonderful corner shelf being modeled by my track star who needs a haircut!  Bless his heart!  Tried bright yellow.  Not so much.  Tried pink and ran out of paint.  So it's a nice combo.  Didn't fit in any corner in my shabby rooms so I imagine this one will be headed to the store.  It's about 2-3 feets in length.  I'm thinking I need to do something about the two tone thing though.

Okay, Cami out!

Pink Saturday Part Trois

I've been busy, busy, busy (like Prof. Hinkle says in Frosty the Snowman!)...

FLUFFING like a mad woman!

The bedroom is really coming along.

Just installed my chippy old door headboard...  Too cute!  Pics to come.

In the meantime, I thought I'd share my favorite-est EVER shabby rose painting.  The canvas is 2 feet long and 10 inches wide.  It formerly resided in my golden child's nursery.

For more PINK SATURDAY go here!  Thanks Beverly!

I'll be estate sale hopping today!

Pink Saturday Part Deux

Sorry I am late getting this post up.  I was out at the crack of dawn going from estate sale to estate sale!  I know you'll forgive me.

P1040821

This is my favorite pink 50's prom dress.  It's too big for my mannequin, but too small for me or I would have modeled it for you!  It has a beautiful rose applique that doesn't show up well here.  However, put some ruffles under this baby and VINTAGE VAVOOM!

Excuse the "stuff" in the background.  Working on the bedroom and the picket fence today.  It's 97 degrees.  Good times!  Happy Pink Saturday to you!

Pop by Beverly's for as much PINK FUN as you can stand!
